Instructor Information:
Christina Castro is a licensed professional clinical counselor who has spent the last 10 years empowering trauma survivors. She began her career as a school counselor supporting incarcerated youth in juvenile detention facilities. Christina later worked with vulnerable foster youth and became a certified case manager assisting human trafficking survivors.
These experiences fostered in Christina a passion for serving adults coping with the lasting impacts of childhood trauma. She now specializes in providing trauma-focused counseling and EMDR therapy to clients with histories of childhood abuse, neglect, physical violence, and sexual trauma.
Over the past 3 years, Christina has focused extensively on Attachment Focused EMDR, recognizing the profound influence early attachment relationships have on clients' emotional health and psychological well-being. She firmly believes that healing is possible and works collaboratively with each client to process traumatic memories, build resilience, and transform hardship into strength. Christina also provides training to school districts across Los Angeles County in trauma informed practices and topics related to supporting youth in foster care.
